Regional Connections is accepting applications for a full-time LIP Program Coordinator.

A Local Immigration Partnership connects local stakeholders with local newcomer voices to identify gaps
and barriers to settlement and integration and increase capacity for building welcoming communities.
Job Purpose: The LIP Program Coordinator will be primarily responsible for establishing, managing and
facilitating a Local Immigration Partnership in Dauphin and region. Duties will vary as the Coordinator
creates a steering committee, develops an Immigrant Advisory Group, initiates activities, builds
community networks and monitors results and achievements. The successful applicant will work directly
under the supervision of the Regional Connections Executive Director.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
 Establish an inclusive partnership council of representatives from community organizations and
municipalities;
 Establish an inclusive Immigrant Advisory Table;
 Design terms of reference and evaluation tools utilizing pre-defined measures;
 Liaise with organizations to develop partnerships for organized outreach;
 Organize and facilitate meetings of partners and stakeholders to develop community
engagement;
 Support community-level research and strategic planning;
 Conduct research on newcomers’ needs and community assets and gaps;
 Participate on LIP regional calls for the Prairies and Northern Territories;
 Work closely with project partners to ensure coordinated progress on all project components.

Qualifications:
 Post-secondary education (college or university);
 Keen understanding of immigration and diversity issues;
 Experience working in multicultural settings;
 Ability to work with volunteers and representatives of the public and private sectors;
 Proven record working with multiple stakeholders in a collaborative setting;
 Excellent organizational and project management skills;
 Proven skills developing and implementing media materials on sensitive public issues;
 Effective communication and public speaking skills.
